Sailing away
Last night when I picked up my husband from off the ferry, driving home we saw this magical sight out in the bay, at twilight.
The Spirit of Adventure Voyage sails on a 10 day programme for 15-19 year olds.
From kids that have been on this voyage, they have found it to be a life changing experience. The trainee needs to be looking for fun, friendship and personal development and they learn and grow so much with all the challenges they face.
I went back down to the beach today and was pretty seeing the magnificent boat in the early morning light... you may be able to pick out the silver fern on the bow, if you enlarge the picture. Wouldn't she look great with the sails up and will keep an eye out and see if I can catch her sailing away.
Day light saving ended last weekend so already the Autumn days are starting, where it is cooler in the mornings and at night. Summer is almost over and there are only the brave who go in swimming now. Most of the tourists have left and I love how the beach is a lot quieter and a great place for exercising and walking dogs. It is time to put a blanket on the bed and will soon have to wear a jersey when I am out on my morning walk.
Hope that you are doing well and wishing you a happy week
hugs
Carolyn

These are some very beautiful pictures. It must be great to live so close to the water, every day to take a walk on the beach. You must be so inspired by airing your dog,(if you have one) such a beautiful place. I live in the cold north Europe, Copenhagen, where we now have spring, but a cold one.
ReplyDeleteI wish you a lovely week.

Hi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteI have been away for so long from blogging and it is lovely to return after a year to find your still posting about beautiful New Zealand. Seeing your photos makes me feel so home sick!
I think I saw a movie about this boat and the guy who organises the trips for young people.
Anyway, your photos makes me think of the first settlers who landed in NZ. Beautiful views. Thank you for sharing!
Best wishes,
Jo. xx

Hi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful and peaceful pics you share. You truly live in a wonderful place on earth. I love the calm and serene look in these pics and the thought to sail away.
We too started daylight savings a few weeks ago already. I can never get used to it at first when we spring forward. I would rather fall back in Autumn. LOL Enjoy your season and the warmth of home.
XO Celestina Marie
What a wonderful sight! Takes you back a couple hundred years huh?
ReplyDeleteIt feels like autumn here, with cold wet weather and not spring-like at all. It almost sounds cozy, as you describe it, but I wonder if that's a feeling that is more common going in to Autumn, as opposed to coming out....
happy Weekend to you Caroly,
jillayne
such beautiful photos, funny to think of you entering autumn as it is just starting to warm up a little here and our beaches are starting to get busier...... x
