Summer swap

This is the gift exchange  Monique organized with some blog friends from around the world.
The theme was Summertime ~ Monique was my swap partner and this is the beautiful gift she sent to me.
A cute Bretagne house {love all the pretty blue} and postcard from where she spent her summer holidays over in Brittany, France. Also what was lovely is the hydrangeas shown in the postcard, they are a favourite flower of mine so had to show it alongside my pretty hydrangea I have growing in a terracotta pot.
Thank you Monique ~ I love it and will look so lovely on my memory board.
Now here is the gift I made and sent to her - a cushion with seashells.
I used a heavy  linen upholstery fabric for the cushion with seashells all over and then I copied some shells from a download  that Martha Stewart was kindly offering on her website and then embroidered the words on it.

And finally here is the scarf that I knitted for our Son - helps to keep him warm when riding his scooter in the cooler weather.
Your work is going to fill a large part of your life and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work.
And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking.
Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it.
~ Steve Jobs

Have a happy weekend

  15. Oooh dearest Carolyn, really wonderful handicrafts went from here to there! The little house that you got, is delightful, and also your pillow looks sooo beautiful - pure summer! Your son will be certainly also happy with his warm scarf (at least on cold days :o))
Today I had to think of you, because today was NOT a fall day here in Austria, today it felt like SPRING, as in NZ! Warm and sunny and birds were singing - it made me happy! :o))

PS: I'm not sure if google translated my previous posting correctly - the kitchen with a yellow fridge was in my former apartment in Vienna, where I lived until 2002. I showed the kitchen because I still like the white cabinets. Meanwhile, however, I have no more yellow fridge in the kitchen (it is in the cellar of our hous, now) :o))

What lovely gifts you have shared with each other... You do beautiful work.
Thank you so much for wandering over to meet my little mice. So happy you received pleasure from viewing.. Yes, it is alot of work to apply the fur, but so rewarding when finished.
