'Bottled happiness' had to go into the supermarket trolley as even the box was fabulous and I will be able to use it again and add to my box collection.
I wish you could drop in for afternoon tea and join me for a piece of banana cake and a cup of coffee.
I hope you are having a lovely week and that it is beautiful where you are.
Thank you for reading my blog and for the comments you kindly leave me and a very warm welcome to new followers.
I look forward to coming to visit you all soon.
Hugs
Carolyn
Dearest Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteOh sure I have bought things for the pretty bottle. To use the bottle as a cute vase afterward and loving it on and on. The little things we find along the path of our lives, they are important for creating true happiness.
Love to you,
Mariette

I'd love to pop in and have some coffee and Banana cake with you plus m&m's!!!
Anytime!
How is your weather these days? We are cooling off with winds. Some rain this morning. The leaves are blowing off the trees.
Lots to do.
Hoping I can get ahead of the game. It would be a miracle.
d
Hi Deanna,
ReplyDeleteOur weather is starting to warm up but it is not summer yet.
I did see people swimming in the sea at the weekend, and they must be much braver than me.
Hugs
Carolyn
hahaha, YES!!!! ok, I am on a diet...again...and those M&M's are making me weak!
ReplyDeleteI see you've uncorked the bottle. Are you happy? :) Oh, silly me. You have yummy banana cake and candy too. Of course you're happy!
ReplyDeleteBottles are one of my weaknesses. I do love a pretty label and a lovely shaped jar.
ReplyDeleteIt is a cold day today where I am, but I do like it. :)
Many hugs.
Hello Carolyn! Nice to hear from you!
ReplyDeleteIt happens very often that I buy things for the nice bottle or jar! Often with the wine too!!!! Mmmm...I'd like to join you for a coffee and for the cake...it looks wonderful!
Happy week to you too!
Vale
Lovely images!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend too,
XOXO Lola & Nora:)
It is so lovely to be back. Yes, I wish we could share a slice of cake (I've just made one which has more ground almonds than flour in it and drenched with aniseed and tangerine syrup. Yours REALLY looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteIf we could share a cup of tea I would confess that I too am guilty of buying bottles for their beauty alone.
See you soon.
Carolyn, I am guilty as charged. I constantly purchase things simply because I love the packaging. I am particularly fond of OLIVE OIL bottles. What is it about olive oil that inspires such beautiful artwork on the bottles?! I don't know, but I do know that we have more olive oil on our shelves than we could ever use in a lifetime!
ReplyDeleteThat cake looks scrumptious... hmmm... can you use olive oil in place of butter when baking a banana cake? I wonder.
Hi Jeri,
ReplyDeleteI have a carrot cake that uses oil in place of butter, but normally I use butter in my banana cake.
I am sure you probably can adapt the recipe for the oil.
Hugs
Carolyn
Dear Carolyn,
ReplyDeletewhwat a wonderful bottle!
You are right, from time to time we need little things like a nice bottle or something else, just to make a day brighter :O)
Your cake looks very yummi :O)
have a great and wonderful week my dear friend!
Love and hugs
Claudia

ReplyDeleteThat´s really a very good cake mmmmm must taste lovely....
Have a nice day.
Hug anna
Where do you live? I'll be right over! Sometimes I confess the pretty bottle wins :) that one is stunning, looks a bit like Alice in Wonderland at first glance.
ReplyDeleteLorraine xx
Hahahaha. That is so me. I'm so attracted to everything visually beautiful that I don't care what's inside the bottle. I once bought a giant bottle of apple juice just because the shape is gorgeous. The juice inside was never drunk. It tasted weird :p
ReplyDeleteIsn't that so true! Your bottle is lovely...you could fill it with cranberries or something glittery for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteBanana cake is a favorite around here...yours looks delicious! I'll be right there...oh how I wish!
Hope you are keeping well. Have a lovely weekend Carolyn.
Hugs, Nancy
Dearest Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteI really understand you;) These things ARE beautiful and sure you can use these lovely things again:)
Thank you for your allways so warmy words to me, my friend!♥

Oh I do that all the time, Carolyn! I'm such a sucker for gorgeous packaging. I can't tell you how many things I've purchased that I've never opened :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteI think I am guilty of buying wine for their nice labels or funny names. ..unless of course someone recommends it or I've had it at someones home.
ReplyDeleteThat bottle is really lovely!
xx
Carole
oh Carolyn!!!! I buy so many things all because of the packaging!!!! some things just make us happy don't they!!!! I love that!!!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful cake too....and that candy really pops with colour!!!!
Wishing you an amazing day!!!!
Hugs
Diana
Little little things in life make our life so much more joyous and memorable too.. I would surely love to have a cup of coffee, few cakes and loads of chat with you anyday :-)
ReplyDeleteI do buy bottles just because they´re pretty - and other things too as tea tins and such. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is a very pretty bottle and box. And that banana cake looks delicious. what kind of glaze did you make for it? Sure wish I could stop by for a piece and a cuppa. :) Wishing you a wonderful weekend. Tammy
ReplyDeleteWe definitely share a thing for bottles!! I have to control myself most of the time, but some times I do go ahead and bring a beauty home!
ReplyDeleteThis one is so pretty! Would love to sit and chat over coffee or tea with you!! What a delight that would be! Then we could create!!!! :o)
Have a lovely weekend, and thank you for your sweet bloggy friendship!!
Hugs,
Becky
Well done Carolyne, who could resist that bottle? I would have bought it too, just for the fun of it! Would love to visit you to eat cake and have tea and look at your bears! Hope your weekend is filled with pretties!

Hi Tammy,
ReplyDeleteThe glaze is actually a lemon icing - icing sugar mixed with the juice of half a lemon and a small knob of butter and then mix it up until it is creamy.
Hugs
Carolyn
My sweet Carolyn
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU for your visit and for going down that yellow brick road with me....may YOU enjoy the change of the season, love, laugh, learn and live. MANY HUGS TO YOU SWEET ONE, Anita

ReplyDeleteHello Carolyn
ReplyDeleteI am so happy that you paid me a visit after Cindy did a splurge on me, I was doubly happy to see you live in NZ!
I live in Albany on the North Shore.
I know exactly how you felt watching the final of the WC.
OMG the huge relief was almost tangible.
Smiles:)
Hi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteYes, I buy things in cute bottles, especially if I think I can make use of it later. Sometimes, just the shape of the bottle alone, gets me to buy it! :)
Have a wonderful day.
Maureen
Oh wow, Carolyn, that bottle is gorgeous!! It is a treasure, for sure! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend and that it is as happy as your smile.

Dear Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I love old bottle labels and old tins..
Thank you so much for coming over to celebrate the opening of Anita's shop and your kind words.. I am just so excited for her.
Blessings,
Penny
I have a beautiful bottle that I bought in Ventimiglia, Italy, just because it is so pretty (dark blue with painted flowers on it, lovely shape too).
ReplyDeleteYour cake looks lovely...
I have two empty wine bottles here in the house that are used as flower vases for long-stemmed white roses and long stems of cherry blossom branches! :)
ReplyDeletep.s. people can spend so much money on buying expensive glass vases, while there are so many good empty wine bottles around! :)
ReplyDeleteCelebrate you and surround yourself
ReplyDeletewith people that do.
