I liked seeing the Union Jack that danced proudly in the breeze, from this house.
Back in 1890, there would have been a lot of work if your occupation was a brick layer.
We walked the old streets in the early morning sun, admiring all the tall and ornate brick houses.
Most people were still fast asleep, after all it was early Sunday morning.
When visiting a big City I like to search out a peaceful corner away from the rushing traffic.
I love the quietness, that is around, leaving me alone with my thoughts and reflections.
And when the silence ends, we are ready to face its challenges once more and accept all it has to offer.
Have a beautiful week everyone!
Hugs
Carolyn
Aah Chelsea - wouldn't it be lovely to be there now in Spring!
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to go when the Chelsea Flower show is on too. I'll have to organise that one day!
Amazing that the streets are so quiet in London - even being a Sunday.
Wonderful that you took all these photos and we can all now enjoy your trip too!
Happy Easter

ReplyDeleteYou have captured such grand pics and this beautiful city. I love the buildings and all the details.
I agree with you about the silent moments of the day. Early morning with your thoughts and plans. A real favorite time for me too.

Hello Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see more of your trip. I enjoy looking at the buildings. I was just telling my mom yesterday that I wished she had taken us kids back to Sweden after she and my dad were divorced many years ago. I was lamenting that we don't have such wonderful old architecture here in the new states and especially the west coast, as in Europe. I think I was born in the wrong country!
Sharon :-)
