London

After arriving at Heathrow Airport at 5 am, feeling very tired and in need of a shower, having traveled for about 26 hours flying and stopovers in both Sydney and Singapore. We made our way into London via the Express train to Paddington and then caught a black London cab to The Sloane Club, where we booked into the apartment.
Had to take a photo of the little turret reaching up to the sky ~ I just love the really old and beautiful buildings everywhere you look. Imagine all the hours of brick work, building these!
The Sloane Club apartment ( left hand side with the oval plaque) was our home for the next five days. It was very handy to the cafes and restaurants, Underground train station and many exciting shops.

This was Sloane street where we were staying, right in the heart of Chelsea.
Kate Middleton ( Prince William's fiance lives in Chelsea) and when we were out and about, I kept and eye out hoping we might see her, but we were not in luck.

London was our first stop on our trip and after having visited there in 2007, it was still as wonderful as ever.
The weather was true to London's reputation, grey skies and fairly cool, 5 - C, but after all it is winter time.

Have a happy weekend
Hugs
Carolyn

The UK is on my MUST SEE list for my next trajet to Europe! I hope you are well dearest...get your rest! Anita

  9. I love those old buildings! I swoon at old architecture and am so sad that new construction is often so sterile or flashy. What a wonderful place to call home for five days!
