The days of black and white.

Grace Kelly

A study in black and white today.
Everything was so glamorous back in the 1940's and I love the black and white photographs, that I would like to share with you.
The Ladies were so elegant, dressed immaculately, with wonderful hats, and jewellery.

  5. Hi Carolyn,

I so agree with you!! I enjoy black and white photography as well. Especially fashion photography! Jaques Henri Lartique, the Seeberger brothers & George Hoyningen-Huene are among my favourites, but more contemporary photographers like Tim Walker are great as well! Love the pictures you chose.

    Wish you a happy wednesday!

    lieve groet, Madelief

  24. Hi Caroyln,
You have shared such wonderful pics in the study of black and white. I just adore the use of black and white and especially when the dress of the time was so elegant and finished. Something so regal about dressing from head to toe. I love the old movies with this looks too. I love the wearing of hats. I can still remember my mom and dad wearing hats in the early 60's. I thought it so special.

Congrats on the award. You certainly deserve this my friend. There is never a time you don't leave a super comment of kindness and encouragement. You are one special lady my friend.
Thank you for the link to your friend. I will go say hello.

Have a great weekend. I am traveling this week with hubby for work and will be back in the studio next week. Having some fun and enjoying a little break!

    Hugs and blessings to you.

  25. In only a few decades, the decline in class and elegance and style has plummeted so very quickly! The trashy women of yesteryears - if you were to take them and put them here now- would still look classy! That's how bad it is!

But just because the rest of the world has lost it, doesn't mean we have to!

I also enjoyed the post on PP. It was wonderful seeing the pictures of him and his family.

I love it when you come by with your sweet words.
