Happy Bastille Day

Today I would rather be walking along the Champs Elysees for a bit of shopping, take in the wonderful sights and share in the excitement.
And after all the shopping we would stop and rest our feet and have a coffee at a street side cafe.

Buy flowers from the market to take home.

I am planning a French meal for dinner tonight, I have Anthony Bourdain's, Les Halles Cookbook out and contemplating as to what I will cook, probably start off with onion soup, and for the main ... maybe bouillabaisse, boeuf bourguignon, or coq au vin.

Just want to wish everyone a happy Wednesday and if you are lucky to be living in France, enjoy your National holiday.
Hugs
Carolyn

  5. Chère Carolyn, That sounds very delicious! Do you get to see that TV show with Anthony Bourdain travelling around the world? We love watching it. Do you know that he has written some mystery novels? I haven't read one though.
    Enjoy your French dinner tonight!
    Hugs to you,
    Julia

  6. Happy Bastille Day Carolyn. I had to smile when I read that you were planning a French menu as we used to offer dinner to our guests at our other house and our winter menu was onion soup, beef bourguignon and chocolate mousse which always went down a treat.

We will be having foie gras and some champagne with friends then will join the locals at the party down by the riverside.
    It is hot here again...

  7. Hi Karen,

I think we all would like to be in France at this time!

    Hi Julia,

We love watching Anthony Bourdain and in fact went to a lunch that he was guest speaker in Auckland and he signed my two books I have of his.
No I have not read any of the mystery novels.
I just read in our Saturday paper that he has another new book out.

Parigi ed i Campi Elisi, sono davvero bellissimi.

Un paio di anni fa le mie vacanze sono state proprio a Parigi.

La "Tour Eiffel" che campeggia imponente è un vero miracolo di geniale architettura.
