Award and my Dolls
I love this wonderful award that Susan gave me, go and visit her blog
nearlystylish.blogspot.com
Thank you so much.
Let me show you my collection of porcelain dolls, in my cabinet.
About 25 years ago, I went to a class and learned how to make the dolls.
It was so much fun and I really enjoyed watching them take shape, from the clay mould to the finished doll.
The top shelf are dolls that I made myself including the clothes, shoes and hats.
The lower shelf are dolls that I was given.
Sorry about the photos, I may need to take some more as the reflection of the glass, seems to be showing.
I hope that you are having a great week.
Hugs
Carolyn

Hi Diane,
I am sure that you would enjoy making your own doll as it is so much fun. See if you can find a class and give it a try. To have a Lavender Dreamer doll, would be lovely.

Many thanks Lisa.
Hi Sixpence and a Blue Moon,
The Award is lovely that Susan designed.
Thank you so much for your kind words Pat and Kim
Hi Jodie,
You are so kind.
Yes, the doll body parts had all come out of a mould and then you just work away, by removing rough parts, painting, firing and putting them all together. It was so much fun and was quite addictive.
I like the little brown eyed googly doll too. She is a replica of a very old doll.
thank you Bill and it is always good to visit your blog too.

Goodness, I wish you were near by, I would have you teach me how to string my dolls, and how to glue the eyes in, because I haven't quite figured these parts out yet. At one of my favorite thrifts I got a huge box filled with all kinds of beautiful dolls, some already finished, just needing colthes, others needing just to be strung and then there are all kinds of bits and pieces to make dolls, whoever these belonged to, they not only loved doing it but they were very good at it, everything is so beautifully painted. Your doll collection is just gorgeous...Rose
ReplyDeleteThank you Rose, and I wished I lived nearby so I could help you.
ReplyDeleteIt was 25 years ago that I made the dolls but will probably still remember how to put them together.
how lucky that you got a box of dolls.
It will be fun putting them back together again.
Many thanks for visiting my blog and your kind comments.
Hugs
Carolyn
