A little pink, for Saturday.

A young Grace Kelly ~ Isn't she glamorous and I just love the setting of this romantic photo.

Princess Grace's immaculate dress sense and classic features were what the world had come to expect of true royalty. She had a short but meteoric Hollywood career, which led to her romantic wedding.
She had a whirling social life as she adapted readily to her new royal role and showed how perfectly she combined it with her predilection for good works and charitable causes.
A tragedy brought the life of the admired Princess to an untimely end when she died in a car crash in September 1982.

Look what I got from the sweet Jessica at Kids Napping I'm scrapping.
This gift was from a game ~ Play it Forward, that we played a while back.

It was so lovely to get a package in the mail and something that was not a brown envelope with a bill.

I will show you what she sent me ~ a pretty collage box, with vintage sheet music and pretty roses and then it was edged with a trim of pearls.
Inside the box a lovely candle decorated with pretty vintage music, organdy ribbon and a pink charm. she also added some vintage trims on a gorgeous smelling tag with a tea kettle charm.

Thank you very much Jessica ~ I love my gifts and it is wonderful to have something from my talented friend.

I hope that you are having a fabulous weekend
Hugs
Carolyn

  6. I was allowed to stay up and watch the wedding of Grace Kelly to Prince Ranier on TV when I was little, back in the 50's. Such a beautiful lady and such a dashing prince. It was like a fairytale.
Our whole family crowded round a 9 inch black and white TV to watch.
Such a tragedy when Princess Grace died.

  8. Hi Lynda,

That is so lovely and must have been a fairytale wedding to watch.
Princess Caroline was born about the same year I was.
I have a lovely book about the family
and was such a tragedy when she died.
In a way was like Princess Diana's her life was cut short, way before her time.

  9. Hi Carolyn:

I absolutely love that photo of Grace Kelly -- as much of an old hollywood buff that I am -- I have never seen it. She was indeed royalty -- on both sides of the ocean. Thanks for sharing a pink Saturday with us.

Also love the Hepburn pic and quote. I have that same quote in my quote journal -- it's one of my favorites! Seeing it with the photo.... is powerful. Especially as we know she lived that which she preached.

    Happy Sunday!
    Blesssings,
    Rosalind

PS: Was wondering how you add those tag lines at bottom of your articles... You may also enjoy other post... (as far as I can tell just must take a lot of planning with the blogspot system). If there is an easier way than I can see, can you please e-mail directions to me: rosalindnichol@gmail.com. Thanks much!

  34. Your gifts from Jessica, so pretty!

Your words about Princess Grace....what a classy lady she was. I was saddened by her early and untimely demise. The world lost a true lady.

I also thought she had a lovely speaking voice in her films, very feminine and melodious.
