Laduree
When Victoria was in Paris she sent us back the most yummiest macaroons.
The colours and flavours were amazing ~ all wrapped up so beautifully in a mauve box, tied up with a ribbon. They were almost too pretty to eat. I chose the Rose petal macaroon and the other flavours were chocolate, dark chocolate, vanilla, pistachio and salted butter caramel.
It is heartbreaking to hear the news of the fires over in Australia. I hope that the fires can be contained soon and they can have some rain and relief.
Hugs
Carolyn

Hi Carolyn,
ReplyDeletebeautiful and yummy treats for you! Sorry for the fire thing in Australia...
A big thank you for your recent visits and the sweet words you left- I truly appreciated both.
Monica.
I've never seen macaroons like that before. I think i'd definately save the box once it was empty!
ReplyDeleteA nightmare situation in Australia, my heart goes out to the people over there. My eldest son and his family have been accepted to emigrate out there. They have till November 2010 before their visas expire.
Yummm! The treats look scrumptous!
ReplyDeleteI am praying that Australia gets releif.
Mmmmmmmmm! There's a bakery near my home that sells these, and when I tell my friends back in the states about the macaroons, they all think I'm talking about the lumpy kind that often come crusted in nuts or coconut. I never realized that I have to distinguish these as the FRENCH macaroons, or macarons. They are so pretty, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteYes, I dread checking back on CNN and seeing the death roll rising. :(
Hi Carolyn, Beautiful photos and wonderful treats.
ReplyDeleteThe Australia fires/tragedies are beyond belief. I can't imagine what those poor people and communities have gone through. I hope they get the relief they need quickly.

Wow! Those cookies look like little works of art all on their own! They are packaged so beautiflly.
ReplyDeleteThe fires and floods in Australia are heartbreaking. My prayers are with Australia right now!

Hi Draffin Bears. This is truly elegant confectionary at its finest. I know what you mean about too pretty to eat.
ReplyDeleteI read yesterday about all the animals, farm animals and beloved pets who have perished in the fire. So tragic, so sad....
Stop...you are making me hungry! Unfortunately, hubby doesn't like coconut or I would bake with all the time. Macaroons are so yummy!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Hugs, Nancy
Many thanks for visiting Lavinia and Nancy.
ReplyDeleteActually Nancy the French macaroons are different to what we have over here.
They are like a flavoured meringue.
They have that sort of texture and are very nice. As far as I know they don't have any coconut in them.
Hugs
Carolyn
Oooooh...I've seen these fancy macaroons on some foodie blogs... and some have had fun trying to "copycat" them... they look lovely....
