Some of the Good things about 2008

A few posts ago I summed up a few things in the year that were not good about 2008 and made me think of some of the highlights and good things in my life.

1. A family wedding ~ my nephew David married the lovely Renee and we attended their beautiful wedding. They are now living in Japan and teaching over there, so I wish them well.

2 DH and I spent the weekend in Sydney at a Teddy Bear Fair. We had a fun time and met some of my friends that I had only communicated via emails, Patsy, Lexie, Raewyn, Melissa, and Karen and many others. It was a busy weekend and came back home feeling like we needed another weekend off to recuperate.

3 My new Pierre Hardy shoes ~ oh they are so high and very uncomfortable { sigh }
not any good for walking, I might add, but look nice!

4 Mothers Day with pancakes and berries for breakfast and some lovely L'Occitane body lotions and potions, my favourite ~ Creme de Roses Perlee.

5 My birthday and I was whisked away to Huka Lodge in Taupo, for the weekend.
With great food and good company, had the best weekend and felt like a Princess for a day!

6 Victoria, went away to London to further her Fashion work and it was great for her but hard for us to say goodbye.
She had a week in Paris which she loved.
She is flying back this Friday, so will be so happy to have her back home.

7 Martin, my DH turned the big 50! We were able to celebrate with friends, so that is a special time in our lives and such a big milestone!

8 Marcel our Son passed his driving theory test, so now he has to do the practical test.
It will be good to have another Driver in the family.

9 I must not forget all the fabulous blog friends I have made ~ and just want to say a big thank you for being such an encouragement, your comments are always valued and bring a smile to my day.

So there were lots more good times, but just wanted to touch on a few things that were memorable for 2008.

With all the doom and gloom that is about in the world, I think that we need to think positively
and treasure and value each and every day in our lives.

Hugs and I hope that you are enjoying your weekend
Carolyn

  1. Lovely post, Carolyn. Sometimes it is renewing to "count our blessings" so to speak! It helps us realize that it's not ALL bad and restores hope and faith! Thank you for sharing your wonderful moments in time with me. :)

  2. I really enjoyed your post. It is so easy to get caught up in the negative and forget about the positive things in life. I agree that we need to focus on all of the blessings in my life no matter how small:)

  3. Oh Carolyn...how lovely! I am so glad there were so many positives for you in 2008! Here's to even more in 2009...

We must have faith that the world will become a better place. We, as a people have the power to make positive change. Our friendship, for example, has been a wonderful positive change in my life...and you are on the other side of the world! It can work...one person at a time!!

I wish you much happiness in 2009!
    Hugs, Nancy

  6. Hi Carolyn! What a lovely picture of you and your bears!
It is good that we remember the happy times. Face the sun and the shadows will fall behind you, as they say.
Thank you for being my blogging friend.
    Hugs, Lynda ♥
