Some flowers for the weekend
Flowers make me feel happy and I love seeing them in the garden and bringing a few into the house to brighten it up.
The little posy was picked from the garden back in Spring and just getting around to sharing it here. I always love the sweet fragrance of freesias... gorgeous and can't get enough of them.
Elizabeth, the new magnolia tree looks pretty, that we recently planted in the garden - it has the softest creamy lemon coloured petals and hopefully will grow well.
With freedom, books, flowers and the moon,
who could not be happy?
~Oscar Wilde

Hello Carolyn. some hoe I've missed seeing your posts, but how glad I am to have seen it this morning, that magnolia is a beauty , Last spring I saw one in a garden centre near where I live and was tempted, but I live in a spot where we get early morning frost and they don't like that, So i hope you show some more pictures of yours as it grows and thise lovely flowers are in full bloom. Enjoy your long weekend, they are few and far between. ( an English expression )
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are pretty, Carolyn, and I noticed the polka dot vase right away. I'm a polka dot girl, that's why. :) Haven't smelled the freesias yet, the fragrance sounds nice. There's something about creamy yellow flowers that are so lovely.
ReplyDeleteHave a carefree weekend.
love, ~Sheri

ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your flowers for the weekend your spring bunch is so pretty. Your magnolia is such a lovely colour. Hope you have had another enjoyable long weekend. Sarah x
ReplyDeleteDearest Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteLovely cream color magnolia indeed! Is that blooming right now? Since you're in summer time that would look odd. Ours is blooming now (we had some early blooms in January) as the very first tree and it turned brown from the frost we're having at night.
Sending you hugs and blessings.
Mariette
dear Mariette,
DeleteNo the magnolia is not blooming now and did not get around to sharing it earlier.
Thanks for your kind visit.
hugs
Carolyn
Thanks dearest Carolyn, that explains it all! I also did post about our end of August trip to NYC... Time does not permit to do it right away; at least not on my watch!

Mariette
