My walk to the village

the gentle waves at Little Oneroa beach looked lovely

Do hope your new week is off to a great start.

Had some errands to run this morning, so instead of driving down in the car, I walked to the little village
The sky looked overcast and as if we might be in for a shower, {which would be very welcome,}  so I took my umbrella in my basket.
Here are a few pictures I took when I got down there
Boutiques if you are in the mood for shopping

I was amused at the slogan on the tee-shirt, 'No shirt, no shoes, no problem'! As it is a beach resort, it can be a little like that and often the choice of footwear is a comfy pair of jandals, which do not look out of place here.
Love that you can see, smell and hear so much more with the birds singing, monarch butterflies flying about ( not quick enough to get a photo) and then the noisy cicadas making a racket.
Butchers and Bicycles
Granville from the show Open all Hours, would have loved this bike delivering goods for Arkwright
Every summer various artists display their work around the village and it is good to see what they do

Walking back home there is a hill, ... Goodwin Avenue is a sure workout for the day and it is always lovely to get home and take off ones shoes and have a glass of water and a sit down.

Have a lovely week
hugs
Carolyn

  2. I enjoyed my walk with you around the village thank you Carolyn!
I've spent more time on the water surrounding Waiheke than I have on land!
Oneroa is a great little village.
At last we have had a little shower of rain - my garden is looking happier.
    Enjoy your week

  11. It looks cozy there Carolyn, how long do you walk to get there ? I can walk to the nearest (only grocery ) shops, and it will take me about 25 minutes, to get there, and then home again :-) I mostly drive, and prefer walking along the beach .
I hope your day is good dear friend, and send you loving thoughts .

  23. Carolyn, it's so nice sometimes to get away from our familiar surroundings and see another town. I just did the same this week. This is a charming little village with boutiques, bicycles, and interesting art. Love that unique bicycle - have never seen one like it before.

It's always nice when we return home after a long day out. When we step outside the comforts of our own home we appreciate coming back to it even more.

    Have a nice weekend, Carolyn.
