Thinking of others today

The things in the news so often make me feel very sad with the earthquake in Nepal and so much else that is going on around us. I feel for those going through hard times in life and really hope that things will change and work out for the better.

There is nothing we can't live down, rise above or overcome

Hope you have had a great weekend - here we have a lot of cleaning up to do after the storm that blew through - started last night and has just eased up this afternoon. Last night I was woken a few times with the wind howling a gale. The little garden shed roof blew off it so DH had to go out this morning and batten it back on and there are branches that have fallen off the trees everywhere.

We have to continue to lead our lives everyday, laugh and cry, cook, eat, exercise, work hard and hopefully we can  create a better world.

Have a wonderful new week dear friends and thank you always for visiting me and your kind friendship
hugs
Carolyn

  2. We too are thinking of others today, the pictures of the destruction are devastating and the numbers of lives affected is so huge. Our daughter visited Nepal and the contrast between her images and these we are now seeing is so huge. Was the storm you had the remnants of the one that hit Australia last week? Hope it hasn't caused to much damage elsewhere on the island. Sarah x

  3. Hi Sarah,

Yes, we did get the remnants of the storm that hit Australia but it had weakened as it hit us. Thanks for your visit.

  10. Nature can and does do seemingly cruel acts at times, and we must all come together to think of others and help them to rebuild. I know many governments and relief agencies are doing their best to help. Donations are always welcomed and our thoughts and prayers.

Take Care - and I hope you can repair any of your storm damage ok.

    All the best Jan

  11. Dearest Carolyn,
If all people would pause and think of others, we already would live in a better world. But so many people are too hard, too much astray of religion and that makes it hard for them.
Let's pray indeed for all those victims of natural disasters and those that get persecuted because of their religion.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  17. I was so shocked for Nepal! And still I'm very sad for them...
But they are strong people (to live there shouldn't be so easy), and I'm sure they'll could restart their lives!
Just hope the people all around the world still help them as much as possible!

  18. Dearest Carolyn,
I don't barely see news or read the newspapers any more - so much suffering in the world makes me just sad and destroys the ability to think positive. It would be great if we could create a better world! If I want to do that, I have to preserve my ability of thinking positively. Nevertheless disasters like in Nepal or the aircraft catastrophe in France are touching me. A lot of shattered lives.

We also had many violent storms already this year, and yesterday was a stormy day, but luckily nothing was destroyed this time.
    Hope you are fine!
    Lots of hugs, my dear!!!
    Yours Traude

  19. So true. My heart sinks further and further every time I open the news and see that the death toll keeps getting higher. Devastating.
I'm glad the damage from the storm was not greater. Many hugs to you. xoxo

  22. Yes, I'm thinking of these people too, Carolyn. Oh, your roses are so dreamy, such a pretty soft color. All my roses are growing nicely except the pink ones; they may be in the wrong location.

    Have a peaceful weekend, dear.

    love, ~Sheri

  23. I think all New Zealanders have a certain affinity with the Nepalese people, going back to Sir Edmund Hillary's connection.
It was a shock in our household too as our son has spent time there and loves the warmth and fun of these people.

I've been miserable with the flu this week - I must have caught a chill when the cold blast came through. It's been a week of bed rest, fluids, Vitamin C and the best Manuka honey!!

Here's to a warm, sunny, calm weekend in Auckland and Waiheke dear Carolyn!
    Hugs
    Shane
