Hello dear friends,
A few things that have interested me this past week and I would like to share with you.
On Tuesday night the Auckland Sky tower looked spectacular, lit up brightly for Saint Patrick's day - DD took the photo, which is just down the road from where her apartment is.
Over lunch last Friday we were lucky to see in the distance, the Volvo boats out practising on the water {you may need to enlarge the photo to see them}
We went for a walk around the Viaduct and the North Wharf last weekend to take a look at the six boats lined up
Leg 5 of the Volvo Ocean race started on Wednesday, leaving Auckland for Brazil. The race was meant to start last weekend but due to cyclone Pam, it had to be delayed.
This is the worlds toughest ocean race and an exceptional test of prowess and human endeavour, sailing in some of the most difficult and inhospitable seas.
On display is a model of the 'SCA boat' which is made up of over 100,000 pieces of Lego.
The all women team look great wearing outfits of magenta.
Their motto ...
Amazing Women can do anything and be anything they want.
Wishing you a happy weekend
hugs
Carolyn

ReplyDeleteDear Carolyn, it looks so wonderful with the boats on the sea, and in harbour, too. I hope these wemen were having a fantastic race :-) (sometimes we need to be a little feministic !!) Have a wonderful weekend,

Dearest Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteha, I was as green as the Auckland Sky tower on Saint Patrick's day! ;o))
[In Austria we don't have this custom, but I think it's nice to wear green cloths on St. P's-Day - and we will travel to Ireland this year. So this is already a little Irish Preparation! :o)]
The Lego-boat looks amazing, and the motto of the Ladies is great (and true!!!)
Lots of hugs, Traude
