Sculpture on the Headland 2015

Stop the clock -giant metal dandelions

Sunday  was a gorgeous day and as it was the final day for viewing  the Headland Sculptures we headed off early. With our water bottles and cameras we walked along the trail, with hundreds of others and it is such a good workout as it is about 2 kilometers.
Here are a few of my favourites that I would like to share with you

The Knot ~ A fence with tangles and knots

We enjoy going to see the outdoor Sculpture Exhibition and it has to be one of the best coastal walks with spectacular water views everywhere you look.
Arrow and target - these were huge
If you are into Rusty, you would like this one

Flowers of the Sky
I loved the little flower house - imagine having this in your garden to go and read a book or take a rest. Inside the flowers were painted red

Spinning top

Interesting walking around in the mirror maze
Landform

You had to look back at this one, to see the whole effect of the contours
The name's Bond ~ James Bond {had to have a selfie here}
Yesterday I had to go back to visit the Dentist as after a week of having the temporary crown in place I needed to go and have it checked out as I was having to take  panadol to alleviate the pain.
He took an X-ray and nothing showed up and explained that sometimes the Injection can give pain for a while.  I am feeling much better today and hopefully on the 26th will be able to have the new crown fitted.
Do hope you have a great week and I look forward to coming over to visit you soon.
The weather has been a scorcher here today and makes it hard to do much on days like this.
hugs
Carolyn

  5. Hello Carolyn,

We should have loved to have seen this fabulous outdoor exhibition.

The monumental size of the sculptures is perfect for the vast spaces which they are placed in. And, such fun to be able to get really close and, almost, be a human part of the sculpture itself.

The mirror maze must have been extraordinary with all the reflections and the flashes of light. Rather daunting in the searing heat, we imagine. The Dandelion clocks are wonderful. Yes, we could have stolen them.....!

  13. Oh, that giant metal dandelion caught my eye, as I love dandelions! What a delightful outside exhibit. I love that picture of you by James Bond. Do you know he was the original James Bond? I was cleaning out the garage this weekend, and came across a picture of him. Have never given it away, cause he is the original and husband loves it. The Flowers of the Sky sculpture is so pretty.

Have a good rest of the week, Carolyn.

    love, ~Sheri

  16. Hi Carolyn, What a wonderful walk with such interesting sculptures to view and enjoy. The mirrors are amazing. The day looks so beautiful there with your warm weather. It is so needed here to melt some of the snow on the east coast. We are sunny here in Texas but a little cooler then it's been of 80 degrees. So ready for springtime and a new season.

I hope your dental appt. goes well and your crown is set in place with great results. I've been going through the same thing and also had a root canal which is still sensitive. Sometimes it takes time for that to improve.
Wishing you well and have a nice week.
    Blessings and Hugs,
    CM

  25. Hi Carolyn, I am sorry to hear you are having tooth trouble. It can be very painful.
I loved the sculptures by the see. The dandelion's were wonderful. Well they all were. We have them along one of our beaches every year for about 3 weeks and I always feel as though they should stay there permanently. They ones we have are for sale and because they are big and exquisite work they are quite pricey. Hugs Kay

  31. Dear, dear Carolyn,

Good morning! You don't know how blessed I feel at this minute as I just looked over at my blog to see your comment. Thank you so much for all the lovely inspiration through out my seven years of blogging. I truly love it, but I had to decide to give it up to put my time elsewhere.....I have this crazy idea that I want to write poetry...hahahahahahahah....and it requires more reading time than I ever had to commit to. But now?I have plenty of time to devour the books I want and need to read, and I hope to venture out into other waters of writing. But you all, you always will mean the blogging world to me.

THOSE DANDELIONS! Oh my how glittery silver they are! Large sculptors as such are some of my favorites to behold.

Be well dearest one. I am still around, visiting when I can. LOVE! Anita

  35. Hello Carolyn, I absolutely love the dandelions and the ‘flowers of the sky’ and what a beautiful walk.

I’m having three new crows but when I went for what I assumed would be the final fitting the dentist told me there were problems with the impressions, and he had to do them again. He then said he was going on holiday until the 10th March, so I still have the temporaries. I don’t want to wish his holiday away – but I am! Barbara x

  37. Hello Carolyn,

Now I want one of those flower houses for the garden. Love the different styles of sculptures. Hope the teeth settle down, have you heard of" oil pulling" you put a spoon of coconut oil in your mouth and swish around for approx 20 minutes, supposed to help.

    Happy days.
    Bev.
