As I am writing this so much has happened in the past few weeks and life has been full of emotion.
Family and friends have all been there to support us and we were grateful to be able to share happy memories, tears, love and lots of warm hugs.
At the funeral we celebrated Mums long and happy life, and remembered her for always sharing her love and caring for all and we will miss her so much. With her silver hair pulled up into a chignon, she always liked to dress well. She enjoyed life and was still riding a push bike at 80, going for long walks along the beach and swimming at the pool. I remember back to the days of my school holidays when I would go with her and help out delivering meals on wheels to the old people.
Her beautiful Grandchildren were pallbearers and shared their memories of the special holidays they spent staying with their Grandparents and the happy times they had with them.
She adored her family, her eight grand-children and getting to meet her three adorable little great-grandchildren and her face would light up when she had a cuddle with them.
It really is a 'Circle of life' as we said farewell to my Mum, we are happy to have sweet little Isla taking over a new place in our family.
Thank you ever so much to my dear readers and friends for your kind words you left me, as it has really helped in the passing of my sweet Mother and brings comfort at this time.
Life on this earth is a beautiful gift and we need to have thankful hearts
I hope you are having a beautiful and blessed weekend
hugs
Carolyn

A big virtual hug to you dearest Carolyn....these women who came before us to teach us how to live probably never thought that they'd also be teaching us how to move on to the second phase of life. With their good deeds on this earth, they escort us to our thresholds and give us something important to think about: how will we be remembered?
ReplyDeletePEACE to you my dear friend. (SHE WAS BEAUTIFUL!)

ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn.... all I can do is send belated hugs.....
ReplyDeleteI lost my own Mum years ago now..... and, it seems when anybody else loses their Mum... many thoughts come flooding back ... every.single.time. I guess the feeling of loss never goes away.......................
Dearest Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteA year and a couple of days have passed... for sure you did relive some moments rather vividly. That is our human nature but as I notice myself, being now almost 9 months away from my Mom's death, it does not feel as raw anymore. Also knowing that they are in heaven and at peace, makes all the difference.
A big hug,
Mariette
