Out and about

A day out in the City... after having a delicious lunch outdoors, {I chose the fish, chips and a salad} with my dear family.  I wandered off and the first thing that caught my eye was this enormous pink shoe  in the square ... it made me smile and it is nice to see something to brighten up our day.  'Smitten' was the name of the colour of the Resene's paint and it was therefor advertising
'Fashion in the BIG little City', which is taking place, from the 28th February until the 10th March.

When it comes to shopping, I love it when all the summer sales are on and even better when you can find something you like and at a bargain price.  I wasn't looking for anything in particular. Just hoping to find something to catch my eye.
I was happy to buy this trench-coat and the lovely Paris inspired tee-shirt and will be able to dream of my next holiday away.

How did it get to be the first day of March?
The hours, days and weeks are flying by!

This weekend, I hope you take time for you.
Enjoy your weekend, my lovely friends.
hugs
Carolyn

  1. Dearest Carolyn,
What a fun way of advertising!
For me today was a happy day as the water stopped seeping into Pieter's work shop! Feeling relieved. Yesterday the painters finished the remodeling of our office and enlarging of the guest bedroom closet. So now it's getting things back into place. By next week we will have our regular routine!
    Hugs to you,
    Mariette

  10. Beautiful friend!

You confirmed a thought I woke up with this morning, that WE NEED ARTISTS, writers, visionaries because at the end of the day, after all is said and done, they are the ones that make us smile, cry, think, venture out. How fun is that shoe! And enjoy the rest of your weekend! OH that trenchcoat is marvelous. I saw a gray trench with white stripes the other day at Banana Republic (I wonder if you have that chain of shops?) It is a beautiful coat! Anita

  25. People in this country wear shoes like that all the time and I wonder how they get around without topping over. Ha! Several years ago in the States there was a a big shoe like that in a consignment shop that was actually a chair, in leopard-print. Of course, I had to take a picture of it. :) Hope you had a good weekend. Best wishes for the week. Tammy

  27. Carolyn,
This big pink shoe is so delightful! What an eye catcher it is. You had such a lovely day out in the city. The fish and chips sound very yummy. Being Catholic and up until Easter, we don't eat meat on Fridays, and often have fish and other things. I will have to have fish and chips soon. It's always so nice to catch up on the happenings here. I just came from a blog that was freezing up on me for 10 min. and then I came over here, and got right through. How I smiled when I came over to visit. Happy weekend, Carolyn.

  36. What great finds, a coat and a Tee!

I'm in love with the shoe. Have you ever seen pictures from The Krewe of Muses parade in New Orleans Mardi Gras. Shoes are a large part of what they throw. If you Google them you will find lots of neat stuff.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. It's always a pleasure to hear from the other side of the world.

    Enjoy your week..........*S*
