Sundown, over Bora Bora

Every night at the same time, 6.05pm we would sit out on our deck and watch the most spectacular sunset.  We did not miss television at all and everything was so peaceful and calm and we felt so relaxed, watching the sun going down. The vibrant colours and the cloud formation, was truly magical.

I could relate to the quote by Gina De Gorna ~

I love to be here at the beach to watch the sunset ~ the greatest performance of Nature. Like in a theater, but it's free.

A sunset cruise would go out every evening
Can you see the bird soaring around?
Was a romantic way of saying goodbye to the day and the lovely thing about this, ...there was one every day.

There is nothing is more musical than a sunset. He who feels what he sees will find no more beautiful example of development in all that book which, alas musicians read but too little - the book of Nature.
~ Claude Debussy

Hope that you are enjoying the weekend
hugs
Carolyn

  1. Who would want to waste time on tv when nature has such a broadcast going on live!!! The captures are fascinating, nature at its very best.

  2. Dearest Carolyn,
What a fairytale setting! Those colors against the sky are incredible.
Does Tahiti ever get plagued by hurricanes or tornadoes? Just wondering with our hurricane Sandy just having hit the east coast so hard.
    Hugs to you,
    Mariette

PS in the Caribbean there is a hurricane season and you better don't book during those months; at your own risk so to speak but often you can't even get off the island if disaster strikes.

  3. Wonderful quotes Carolyn :) Look at that sunset.. and the soaring bird! So romantic, and the joys of vacationing in the tropics.. beauty is everywhere.

I love that lone sailboat out there!

  9. First of all, Debussy is one of my all time favorites. What did that man FEEL when he wrote Clair de Lune? And this sentiment my dear runs parallel to my next blog post for next week. What a treasure trove of memories you are going to have with this gift of a trip!! LOVELY and thank you sweet Carolyn, for your kind comments. Your visits are always embraced! Anita

  23. Who needs tv when you are on vacation in a beautiful location with such fantastic views. Just sitting outside enjoying it all is enough to make the day complete. This is the time of year when our sunrises are very colorful. I run out every morning to see just how the sun will greet me that day. Best wishes to you for a wonderful week. Tammy

  26. These are beautiful sunset pictures, Carolyn. The quote "I love to be here at the beach" is so special that I will write it down. Sometimes it's nice to not watch T.V. and just gaze at the beauty that's in front of us. That's a magical screen itself. Have a wonderful week.
