Happy weekend

Daughter was invited to her work ball the other night and the theme for the evening, was the Queen's Jubilee.
She made herself the pretty pink gown that she wore on the night.

Life is good here and hope that you are having a great weekend where you are.

We are enjoying watching the Olympic games and are amazed at the athleticism of each person that participates and all the training time and stamina, that each individual must have put in, for them to get to where they are.
The only drawback is with the time difference it means some of the races are taking place way past our bedtime, but how easy it is to sit and watch one more race or event.
Congratulations to all those that are taking part.

I wonder if you have been watching the Olympic games?

Have a fun and special weekend
Hugs
Carolyn

  5. She must have been 'Belle of the Ball' a beautiful girl in a beautiful dress!
How lovely she made it herself - that takes me back to when I was young and could whip up a dress to wear to a ball too!

Oh yes Carolyn - I was up until 1:30 this morning, waiting to see Mahe Drysdale win gold - a proud moment for all New Zealanders!

  6. Hi Carolyn!
Your daughter must be proud of her work. She looks amazing in her handmade gown.
I also enjoy a lot watching the Olympic games when I have a moment. Our French Athletes are doing very well this year and lots of other very talented athletes to watch!
Here, all is fine. I am busy making Renaissance costumes and also in the middle of knitting a tank top with my Martha stewart knitting loom (that's a kit so we can build lots of different looms).
The weather is playing yoyo. Today, it is sunny and I am glad I chose today to put clothes outside to dry! Yesterday, we had a few showers in the afternoon.
Next week, Malko will go to his parents'secondary home to help his dad making a new bathroom.
Lots of hugs to you, your daughter and your beloved husband.
    Sophie.

  12. Your daughter's dress is very pretty. She did a lovely job. I am watching some of the Olympics. We are getting 6 channels of it from our Orbit Showtime Network but sometimes there are Arabic commentators and for me that is aggravating. Have a wonderful week. Tammy

  13. Dearest Carolyn,

    You have a talented daughter!
Glad that things are well on your end. No, we have not had time to watch the Olympics, rarely watch TV. Pieter is writing his memoirs and I am scanning old(er) photos to make them all digital. Besides the garden, home, laundry, social life. There is hardly time left!
    Hugs to you,
    Mariette

  18. My husband is watching the Olympics - he was an athlete growing up, so is enjoying them. Your daughter is so pretty, Carolyn. That is so special that she made the dress herself. My mom used to sew too, and could make just about anything. Please tell her to keep sewing - it is such a talent.

I have tried to catch as much of the Olympics too and there are spoiler alerts everywhere but it's still exciting to watch even when you know the winners.

  35. Hello, Carolyn,

So happy to hear that life is good. Your daughter's dress is fabulous!

I am catching some of the Olympics, highlights mostly but enjoying them very much. This certainly would have been the year to live in London, wouldn't it?

Two of D's nephews from Chile attended some of the events in London and just loved it.

Wishing you a great rest of the week!

    xoxo
