For the love of Green

Always nice to have fresh herbs handy, on the windowsill

A few tufts of down cling to the feathers of this newly fledged young Kakapo. Thanks to the continuing breeding success and a bumper season in 2009 Kakapo numbers have surged to 124 at the time of printing.

May you always be blessed with walls for the wind
A roof for the rain
A warm cup of tea by the fire.
Laughter to cheer you
Those you love near you
And all that your heart might desire.
~ Irish blessing.

My daughter and I are having the day out tomorrow - we are looking forward to visiting the Auckland Art Gallery to see the Exhibition,  showing the works of Degas to Dali.
Then maybe some shopping and lunch. Do you have anything special planned for the weekend?

Happy Saint Patrick's Day and wishing you a wonderful weekend
Hugs
Carolyn

  1. Hi Carolyn,

Yes, it is always great to have fresh herbs to cook with. Some of mine are starting to poke some little green leaves through the ground. The chives are up and ready to use.:)

Have a beautiful day out with your daughter. Hopefully you'll have some great weather. Will not be out much over the weekend, thunderstorms predicted until Sunday.

  2. Dearest Carolyn,

Enjoy the time with your daughter; that is always special! Nice tribute to 'Green' for the St. Patrick's festival. That is being celebrated here big time as the city is called Dublin.
    Love to you,

  18. Hi Carolyn, What a beautiful post of greens. It is always a refreshing and cool color I think. Love the sweet little color and eyes of the Kakapo.
Herbs on the windowsill remind me of my grandmother. I can still remember the scents in her kitchen and when I catch the scent of basil, it takes me right back to that time.
Happy St. Patrick's Day my friend. Love the Irish blessing.
    Sending much love your way.

  32. Our weekend is supposed to be over but the Ministry called school off because of the dust storm. Crazy thing is, weather was worse yesterday so it just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. But I've already been to the yarn store, done some grocery shopping and now I am gonna do some cleaning before I crochet and stitch the rest of the afternoon.

Enjoy your day out and about! Best wishes and blessings, Tammy
