The Apartment

Hampton Court is the Neo-Georgian style apartment that was built in 1929 and one of the early apartments in Auckland City.
This is a lovely, stylish old building, with some art deco features. Our children are renting one of two penthouses on the top floor, ( the 9th) so I will now take you on a tour.

This apartment is perfect, it's very light and sunny with a casual atmosphere.
With black marble tiles, parquet wooden floors and carpet in the bedrooms, makes for a comfortable place for them to live.

I would be very happy cooking in the wonderful kitchen

It has a little tiled deck, where they will be able to sit outdoors and enjoy the sun.
V's bedroom and her black tiled en-suite, sorry was hard to photograph all the black in the room.

M's bedroom with the sun streaming in and his bathroom
Will show you the view from the apartment around Auckland City, next time.

We are looking forward to spending a night over in the City, now and again - on the sofa bed in the lounge, we have bought.

I hope all is well in your world and that you are enjoying your week
Hugs
Carolyn

  3. Dear Carolyn,

First of all I would like to congratulate you on your sons birthday! I hope you had a lovely day together?!

Hampton Court looks like a beautiful building. Your children are very lucky to be renting an apartment there. It's looks spacious and light to me.

It's difficult for young people to find suitable accommodation in Holland. Prices are rising rapidly. My middle daughter is studying in Amsterdam and finds it very difficult to found normal priced rooms there.

    Wish you a lovely day,

    Madelief x

This looks like a fabulous building. I love that it is a charming old 1929 building but yet it is very updated on the inside. I'm sure they enjoy living there and how fun for you to get to visit (maybe they'll even let you cook!).

  21. Dearest Carolyn,

That is a very classy apartment! What a neat penthouse they both live in. Smart to have put in marble and wooden floors. That saves each new occupant lots of money too, no carpet needed and very easy to clean.
Sure you will go there for a visit now and than; that's the next chapter in your lives...
    Love to you,

    Mariette

  25. The apartment is just right for them, and I love the black marble tile. I hope they enjoy their new home. It's hard when they leave the nest, isn't it? I have been through two so far. Hugs to you.

  26. Hi Carolyn! Thank you for the tour of their fabulous new place. So many great details and lovely views. I can imagine how different it must be from your island. I've lived in large cities and quiet towns and love aspects of both. But cities do suit the younger lifestyle better. :)
