The first encouraging signs of Spring

The first Freesias are out in the garden and there is a definite Spring feeling in the air!
With a little flurry of snow the other day, (for all of about 2 minutes ) when I looked out the window it was not rain and it was not hail, but the soft powdery white stuff.
We never get snow here where I live, so it made it all the more exciting for me.

One kind word, can warm three winter months
~ Japanese proverb

My white camellia bush is delightful and love the pretty white flowers which remind me of whipped cream.

The tuis are making an appearance again and won't be long before they are drinking the sweet nectar, from the beautiful yellow blossom of the kowhai tree

I love Spring ... what season do you like best?

Hope that you are having a wonderful weekend
Hugs
Carolyn

  2. Dearest Carolyn,

Oh what a lovely and perfect flowers you show us here. Once we had freesias too but the bulbs got eaten I guess... LOVE their fragrance. If you take them inside and place on the night table you create a romantic heaven.
Yes, for me Spring is THE season! The fullest for blossoms and the most fragrant ones do bloom in spring time. The temperature is still perfect before the heat of summer comes in.
Enjoy your upcoming spring and indulge in your flowers!
    Love to you,

    Mariette

  3. I love any time there is cooler weather. Not sure if we have Fall, Winter or Spring -- it's only a few months out of the year when the weather is not hot and that is definitely my favorite time.

Growing up in the South, we didn't see snow either, so when we would get a little flurry, it was always very exciting.

Hope your day is great. Tammy

  30. Carolyn -- thank you for your sweet visit to my blot for Tablescape Thursday. I know that wonderful feeling of Spring after the seemingly endless cold of Winter. The first blooms seem to bring us to life as well. I have to say, that were I live, I think Autumn in our best season. We have many warm days and the nights become crisp. I love sweater weather, and when our leaves turn yellow, orange, purple and brilliant red -- the only down side is that it leads to winter! Our Springs, while quite lovely, seem to be rather short and then right into the heat of Summer. Wouldn't it be wonderful to follow your favorite season all around the world? Enjoy the new blooms of Spring.

  31. My favorite season is Spring when the Jonquils start to pop and Summer when trees are lush and full of every shape and size of leafy beauty and Autumn when the pumpkins are HUGE and every step through the woods crunches underfoot and Winter when snow softly drifts in mounds upon our hills... Oh dear, I just love them all! I am so glad we have four of them!
    Happy Spring to you!

I love the colors and the blue sky. I love the cold air and the leaves blowing in the wind. And a cup of warm tea, of course...Have a lovely week!

  39. Dear Carolyn,
I love seeing your first glimpes of Spring in pictures. Your flowers are lovely and I am sure the warmer days welcome. We are still with very HOT temps and I think we hit 55 days of 100 plus. I lost track now!!
I bet it was a fun surprise to see some snow flurries even for a short time. We never get snow here either, but last year was the exception. We have gone from one extreme to another. Oh well it's Texas.
Have a great week and thank you for stopping by for tea. Lovely to see you.
    Hugs, Celestina Marie
