Cinderella

Every year it is fun to go and look at the window displays of our big department store, in Auckland ~ Smith & Caughey.
This year, it is the Tale of Cinderella and I would like to share my photographs I took.
Apologies for the window glare. With the little dolls moving around and music to go with it, makes for a magical show and takes you back to childhood days, when this story was read to me.

What is it about the fairy tale Cinderella, that is so appealing and children beg their parents to read or tell the story just one more time?
I still love the story of a young woman living with her wicked stepmother and stepsisters, in unfortunate circumstances that are suddenly changed to remarkable fortune. The outcome where the magical transformation, missing slipper and a hunt by a King for the owner of the slipper.

Wishing all those that are celebrating Thanksgiving, hope that you are having a happy time.

Also wishing my dear friends a wonderful weekend wherever you may live ....
to those that have snow, keep warm and cozy and to some of us that are enjoying warmer days enjoy the weekend.

Hugs
Carolyn

  6. Ooh goody it's that time again - the Christmas windows at S & C!
Thank you for your photos Carolyn, now I must make the trip into the city too!

I had lunch at Soul this week to celebrate a friends big birthday and the hanging baskets of white flowers are really something to behold and the perfume of the double petunias was heavenly - definitely worth a look. The entire ceiling area of the covered outside part is a whte floral canopy - heavenly!
    Enjoy your weekend too!

  11. What a clever idea! Can anything be more fun than the Cinderella story portrayed in a window? And you did so well with the photos.
There's nothing more delightful than looking at Christmas windows. My daughter lives in NYC and I love visiting her this time of year and peeking in all the lovely store windows.
Not quite so much of it in our little town...

  24. I'm living in hope that my Prince Charming will come along & take over from the grumpy old Christmas Grouch I'm currently residing with! Yes, it's that time of the year & he's working himself into a frenzy!

  26. What a wonderful window display! I love the unique ones like that. And Cinderella is such a classic - didn't we all want to be her at some point? I took photos of Macy's holiday store window as their displays are so colorful. Some displays are really fun to look at.

    Have a great week,
    Sharon :-)
