Palm Cove ~ Part 4

I hope that you are not too tired of looking at my holiday photos, but this is the last lot.
Loved seeing the sights, sounds and scents around this wonderful tropical place and was even more exciting from this little fire engine red Peugeot, that we hired to get around. Only problem though the heat was so extreme that a sunhat was a must at all times.
We drove down to Cairns for a trip to look around and do some shopping.
At the Esplanade, was this magnificent large free swimming pool where seemed like half the City of Cairns were gathered to swim and keep cool in the water. There were people everywhere, eating their lunch, enjoying the water, sunbathing and out in the midday sun.
I suppose you would get climatized to the heat, but I found it very hot and was glad to sit down at a cafe under the shade to eat our lunch.
This sign at the beach was alarming.... jelly fish was one thing but Crocodiles!!!
I remember seeing them at the Zoo one other time we visited and they were humungous.
Lucky for us, there did not seem to be any around but all the same made us want to swim in one of the three pools which were lovely. Really did not want to be a snack for some hungry croc.

It was very relaxing lazing in the hammock with a good book.
The path to the restaurant

We had breakfast, nearly every morning at the restaurant at the Resort.
The food was great in Queensland and they had everything I liked, tropical fruit, pineapple, melon and the fresh fish and prawns from the sea.
On the last night we enjoyed a delectable meal here, with white tablecloths, candles and under the light of the full moon shinning on the sea. It was a very romantic night and a lovely way to end our fabulous holiday.
The world is a nice place because of you all and many thanks for visiting me and your friendship.
Blessing and love to all of you and wish for a happy September.
Hugs
Carolyn
