Staying healthy.

Virtually the entire world's media have been talking about swine flu and the World Health Organization's upgrade of the threat, to a level 5.
I know that there have been people that have died in Mexico and that is very sad.

Ten, NZ school children who recently returned from Mexico have tested positive for influenza. They were quarantined in their homes, but they now seem to be on the road to recovery, which is good.

I think that we just need to be cautious about hygiene, looking after ourselves by taking Omega 3, Vitamin C, Echinacea and olive leaf extract.
Probably the best thing we can do is not to panic, as people wonder if they have SF, when it is probably just cold symptons, which nearly everyone gets in winter.

Here's hoping that this pandemic flu will be over soon.
Take care and look after yourself.

Hugs
Carolyn

  1. And wash your hands - often! I have always been a hand-washer. I can't stand dirty or sweaty hands. I too hope this pandemic will run its course soon. Glad the little ones in NZ are better. Keep well.

  2. Hi Dolores,

I am always washing my hands and can't believe seeing people sometimes walk out of a public bathroom and not wash their hands.
When our kids were growing up I think I reminded them every day - how important it was.

  3. It is nerve-wracking to see adults not washing their hands in public washrooms. It really doesn't take long at all. One can only hope they carry alcohol wipes or hand sanitizer.
I do think that many of the lessons we teach our children are carried into their adulthood.

  4. Hi Carolyn, All good points to be aware of. We have to be careful and keep washing hands. My trip was canceled due to the alerts.
    Stay well,

  5. Hi Celestina Marie,

So sorry to hear that you have had to cancel your trip due to the alerts.
For the best though and I am sure you will be able to go when it all calms down.

  6. I am trying to remain calm and keep things in perspective, but it gets a little hairy sometimes when your husband is something of an alarmist. :)

I KNOW! Ewwwww, I am stunned when people do not wash their hands after using the restroom!

  7. We have had some cases in Canada but they have been mild. Prayers to those suffering more severe elsewhere....
