Champagne Comte Audoin de Dampierre

We were invited to a Degustation luncheon and had the priviledge of meeting the Comte Audoin De Dampierre ~ maker of this eponymous champagne.
We sat down with a group of lovely people to share a wonderful meal and to drink a few glasses of his exquisite cuvees.

The Count is an eccentric aristocrat whose passion for producing exceptional champagne is perhaps matched by his enthusiasm for his vintage car collection.

He was able to tell us some tales, of life for him and his family in France.

  7. We did have a lovely time, with great company, champagne and food.
It was a nice way to spend an afternoon and not have to work.

The table and flowers (loved the pale pink roses) were beautiful.

With the Family having lived around the Champagne area for 700 years, yes he did have some wonderful stories to tell and the time seemed to go by so quickly.

  8. Hi Carolyn!
Thanks for your beautiful words! They are always much appreciated.
A cadeau (plural cadeaux) is a 'party favor', a 'small gift' in French...
    Gorgeous flowers!!

  18. Hi Tracie,

You could have had my share ~ I am not a huge fan of oysters, I ate two and that was all.

We have Oysters from Bluff ( a town in the lower part of the South Island) they have a very short season and that has just started now and these are delicous.
If you ever get to try these ( they are the best) you should.

    Hugs
    Carolyn
