Wet weekend.

We are having a wet, and windy day today.
It is so nice to be indoors and to do all the things you want to do around the house.
I am going to go and work on my journal I am putting together, which is proving to be a lot of fun with vintage pictures.

This little girl is so sweet holding her parasol and appears to be searching in her pockets to pay for the goodies she has in her basket. I wonder if she left her money back at home!

What is the weather like in your part of the world, this weekend?
I want to wish you a very happy weekend.

Hugs
Carolyn

  1. Hi Carolyn,
It was sunny today, but supposed to rain later this weekend then all next week. I have Spring fever so bad (even though it's not even Spring yet). What a cute little vintage postcard. Being inside warm and cozy sounds lovely. Just as a weekend should be - enjoy!

  4. Thanks for visiting Tracie ~ I saw your lovely rainy photos you had taken. Spring fever is good!

Mona, we were staying in Surfers Paradise about 2 years ago and the temp. reached 40.
The only thing you could do was stay in the air conditioned apartment or swim in the sea or pool or go to the air conditioned shopping centres. It did take a lot of getting used to.

  6. Hi Carolyn,
It is about 7 degrees here in the UK this morning. Overcast, pale grey sky, but no wind, thank goodness! Hoping to do a little tidying in the garden today. Have a great weekend.

  7. Our temperatures did a complete reverse....we had it very cold day before yesterday...-21C... and then it soared to +2C in the afternoon yesterday. This morning it is only -17C again...but, going up to -3C later..... a yo-yo few days here.

Enjoy your weekend Carolyn.... I'm trying something new... paperclay over a cloth face...haven't a clue what I'm doing...and have been searching for any info on line...not much out there.... guess it'll be trial and error...

  9. Interesting to know that the weather, is so different where we all live.

Vee, that is so cold and how it can change so much.
Good luck with your new project.
I shall come and visit and see how it is going.

  10. Enjoy your rainy day. We are finally NOT having a wet weekend here in Southern California! It has been rainy, grey and dreary the last few weekends! THIS weekend, however, has been sunny and nice! A warm 85 degrees!

  11. Hi TattingChic,

I did enjoy my Saturday, always nice to get those jobs done, which we leave for a rainy day.

Glad that the sun has shone for you this weekend and a warm 85 degrees, must be really lovely.

  14. Oh my goodness, what an adorable little girl! I just want to pinch her little cheeks. She doesn't look very happy, though.

It is cloudy with a little rain here in Tokyo. It's been depressingly grey and rainy for a week now, and the temps dropped on Friday low enough to get a little snow as well. I enjoy watching the rain, as long as I know I don't have to go anywhere, but with a dog that requires walking, well..... Hope you have a productive day!

  15. Hi Bella,

Yes, isn't the little girl sweet but as you say not very happy.

Dogs do need to be walked in all weather, I know and you need a good rain jacket, hat and scarf sometimes. When we had Heidi, some days you thought I can't go out in this, but then you need to.

I hope that your weekend is going great.

    Hugs

  16. Hi Carolyn, We will be into a month of rain soon in Ontario. . . but it does mean Spring for us. I can't wait! I've had enough of winter this year. Time to buy some potted Tulips I think :)

  17. Hi Karen,

Spring is always lovely isn't it with tulips and spring bulbs.

We are just coming into Autumn and the colour of the leaves will soon be changing. It is cooler in the mornings and evenings ~ makes a nice change.

  18. Hi Carolyn. I love this litte girl, look at her sweet expressive face. That's a beautiful illustration.

Sorry to hear it is rainy where you are, but as you say, it gives a good reason to stay indoors and do things around the house. Did you do alot on your journal?

Our weekend weather here is Toronto has been sunny and absolutely frigid. So very cold that I cancelled my plans to go to a movie matinee today. I don't want to leave the house! It's minus 5 celsius. Even running next door to return my neighbour's hammer was a chilling experience.

  19. Hi Lavinia,

No, I did not get as much done as I would have liked.
Funny how you can sit in front of the computer and the time passes by so quickly.
What did we do before computers?

Sorry the weather is so cold over there and you missed your movie matinee. Hopefully it will warm up soon for you.
It is almost Autumn here - cooler in the morning and evenings and the leaves are just starting to change colour. Oh well, any season is wonderful.
