23rd Wedding Anniversary and tatted doilies

On the 25th of January 1986 our wedding took place, so we had cause to celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary. DH gave me a beautiful white glass bowl and a lovely card. I cooked a nice chicken dinner, and we had a great day.
Going for a swim and having a lazy day.
I often think how the years race by and really it does not seem like that long ago!

TattingChic has asked me to show her some tatted doilies my Aunt Ruth gave me.
The smaller one she gave me when I turned 21 and the other she gave to us when we were married.

They are extra special to me now, as dear Aunt Ruth passed away about 5 years ago.

Have a great week.

Hugs
Carolyn

Can I please share 1 of the photos on my blog with a link to this post so that others can see how beautiful they are? I'd love to copy the bottom photo, but only with your permission! Please, Oh, Please! I really want to send some people over here to see this! :)

  2. Oh thank you so much TattingChic for your kind comments and I would be happy for you to show them.

I think that some of the photos could be a bit better, my hand must have been a little shaky while I took them.

    Many thanks again

  3. Okay, I'm finishing the post on this right now! Happy 23rd wedding anniversary! Isn't this ironic how we chatted about this TODAY and it was given to you on your wedding and today is your wedding anniversary! I think that is so sweet! Stop by in about 5 minutes to see the blog post on this! :)

  4. Hi Carolyn! I shared both the triangle one and hexagonal one (the bottom 2 photos) I said one when I asked and then you said it was okay to show "them" so I took that as it was okay to show more than one photo since there is more than one piece! I just wanted to make sure! I'm so silly. I know I overly worry sometimes, but I just don't want to offend anyone. Please let me know if it's okay or not and I will respect your comment, whatever it is. :)

  5. That is fine, I am happy for you to use whatever photos you like.

Yes, it is ironic that I posted the tatting photos today, because I have been meaning to show you then for a while.

  6. Congratulations Carolyn and Martin. 23 years i a milestone these days and such a celebration. Your doillies are gorgeous and I can understand how precious they are. Your home looks beautiful very you. Remember the hut we made on the bank down swingbridge hill... we had that so well decorated with newspaper and leaves...spent hours down there arranging things. It was our home away from home haha... Seems like only yesterday!!

  17. Happy anniversary! I came here via TattingChic, too. Your bowl is exquisite (DH has good taste)! And your aunt's doilies are absolutely incredible. What treasures they are. My grandmother used to knit endlessly, and I so hate to part with the sweaters she made, knowing she made every single stitch. So I know how much these doilies must mean to you.

    Wow, your bears!

  18. Hi Carolyn, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!! Best wishes for many more happy years. I read about your tatted treasures on Tatting Chic. Just lovely items and what a blessing to have these from your Aunt. I also would love to learn to tat. If only I could find the time. Being a artist keeps me so busy painting. But who knows, maybe I could fit that in too. LOL

Have a special time with your DH.
Thanks for stopping by and your sweet comment.
    See you soon.
    hugs, Celestina Marie
